[attr="class","sinbody2"]It was cold, and everybody was miserable. People huddled together in the caves, trying to draw body warmth from one another. Jaron sat with his back against the wall, and Zee was laying over his crossed legs. It was stuffy in here, and even if they were glad they had each other, they were becoming restless. Jaron, for one, missed the trees around his cabin. He missed the way the sunlight filtered through the leaves and after it rained, all he could smell was the damp ground. He missed his bed, and having Zee there. Being in these caves felt an awful lot like being in a very poor, very dirty, subset of some forgotten country.

Sir was huddled at Jaron's left, leaning on his hip. He lifted a hand to pat the cat on the head, and the feline immediately started kneading his leg. Jaron winced at the sting, but didn't scold his pet. Sighing, he dropped his head back against the stone and returned to running his hand up and down Zee's arm. "I hate it here," he grumbled, and though he kept it quiet so he hopefully wouldn't offend any of the people around them, he and she had become pretty in-tune; she probably heard him.

They weren't close enough to the edge of the mountain to see daylight (or lack thereof), but that's how it had to be just to not freeze. Jaron wondered how long until morning. He hadn't dressed nearly well enough for a winter this harsh, and his trunk of backup outfits hadn't arrived yet, but he was seriously considering going for a run once the frigid air wouldn't turn his lungs into ice cubes.

"Want to... do... something?" he asked hesitantly, looking down at his girlfriend. He still smirked just thinking the word. "We could... explore the caves, maybe?" They'd already done that, like ten times. And each time they'd eventually had to turn back because they either needed food or the tunnels became too cold without a heat source. Still... it had to be better than this waiting game.
