"Oh! Haha..." Xiao's embarrassed laugh trailed off awkwardly into thorough defeat. There was only one... singular... vial... inside the crate. And what really weighed so much was probably the crate itself and whatever packing materials inside. Probably. He was tempted to feel his own arm--had he gotten this weak since he landed? Granted, Xiao didn't 'work out' as such, but he... he lifted. Things. Plants. "Whoa!" He reached out reflexively to catch the tumbling vial but Wyn had it. Whatever was inside looked toxic, though, or possibly radioactive. Or both. Xiao personally wouldn't have gone near it until he knew what was inside, much less toss it around like a tennis ball! He eyed Wyn nervously; she seemed perfectly fine with it. The other girl, on the other hand, looked about as startled as Xiao, which was somewhat reassuring in that he now knew he wasn't over-reacting. He smiled wryly as he began to set off. "I'd say these are pretty dire circumstances..." And indeed they were, with embarrassments just lurking around the corner, waiting to trip Xiao onto his face. Thank goodness nobody he knew was around to watch him acting like an idiot, despite all of his good intentions. "So... both of you have seen a worm thing? What did it look like?" Half of him desperately wanted to know what manner of creature it was, while the other half wanted nothing more than to club the first half to death and then go hide forever in a cave somewhere. @@wyn & Farrah Benz MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can hear the voice But I don't want to listen Strap me down and tell me I'll be alright
What kind of grandmother gave a vial of unknown substances? That didn’t really make much sense to Collie, so in turn, to Wyn either. That didn’t make much sense at all. She eyed the broken armed girl for a moment before glancing at the vial and then shrugged it off before continuing to walk on. At the mention of the worm, a smile broke on Talwyn’s face in reminiscent of the exciting adventure she’d had. Perhaps riding the worm was not the brightest, but she was very good at learning animals, having spent all her time with them, and she was very intrigued at figuring out what made these creatures tick.
That and building a house as soon as her nails came in. Because. Caves? Ew. She may be a wild human, but even she wasn’t that wild. Besides, she assumed that everyone knew that hot scorching earth, with plant life, meant torrential rain or…worse. It didn’t take a genius to know that. Although based on the fact that that little tall boy had difficulty lifting a single vial, perhaps she was underestimating the rest of the population on PE. Maybe ‘only the strong survive’ was a very big lie that people told. She wouldn’t know, this was the most amount of time she’d spent with people that were not her brother, an animal, or Collie.
”The worm was huge, and fast and a bit dumb, and did not try to eat me at all. But I find the Vesper here incredible. Stealth flying, large wingspan – Almost remind me of some weird alien pterodactyl. Their senses seem sharp, and you never know where they are especially in the dark, because they are so black they almost seem to blend in with the night sky. “ She spoke with such clarity for the first time since meeting them, even if it was a little nonchalantly spoken. Her blue eyes scanning the sky while she spoke, continually walking at a steady fast pace. Then her gaze landed on her hawk and a childish innocence came over her again: “Poor Zip, I hope he doesn’t become french-fries to them but don’t you worry Xiao, he’ll alert us to anything above or well ahead of us. And it’s all clear for a little bit”

they call me a menace they say that i'm cursed er gaze collided with Xiao's when the woman who was arguably more insane than Farrah herself tossed the vial like it was nothing. No one knew what was in that! Batshit insane... They got walking, and Farrah was less than inclined to relive the worm experience. Whoever decided on that name was straight up mental - that made it sound so innocent like it was just a creature trying to get by day by day, and not eat all the inhabitants of PE. She supposed, to be fair, it had probably only attacked her and Logan because they'd been in its home, but... Still. Of course the weird girl would spill everything, causing Farrah to look at her sidelong, but not stop walking. A scowl turned her lips when Crazy mentioned it not trying to eat her at all. Farrah's mouth opened to ask exactly how far away she'd been observing it, then, since she managed to not almost die, but the girl was already moving on to the next topic. Subconsciously, Farrah's gaze swept the night sky. What if one of those things snatched up her precious Zip without a sound? This planet was full of insanity - she wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Mostly because she just wanted Crazy to stop talking, Farrah tossed at Xiao, "So, what's your story?" The words were innocent enough, and she most likely wouldn't use the information against him later. Maybe. Alright, fine, she probably would - knowledge was power. [googlefont=Bungee Outline]

Worried--incredibly worried--was pretty much Xiao's only state of being ever since he landed on the planet, so being told not to worry (and that Wyn's hawk was looking out for them) wasn't actually too reassuring. It was nice of Wyn to try and reassure him, though, and Xiao quite appreciated that. He nervously cleared his throat but flashed Wyn a quick, gratified look. Giant worms that moved fast and vicious flying beasts? The stuff of dreams! More like nightmares."Oh... good," he said with a somewhat more forced smile, that probably didn't come out right because he was trying hard not to frown at the same time. Although he noticed that Wyn seemed more engaged while she spoke about dangerous man-eating (probably) creatures, he didn't mention it. It was a little odd, Xiao wouldn't lie, but at the same time he wasn't going to turn on her and demand to know whether her innocence was all an act, or if she was indeed sharper than she let on. At least for now, Wyn didn't seem suspicious. Strange, yes, but who knew what toll living here had taken on her? Xiao walked a little closer to her, feeling a momentary pang of sympathy. Wyn seemed to have come here alone; he wondered what happened to her family, or if she had any at all. He turned to the other girl, wondering what she thought of all of these creatures. Catching the sweep of her gaze into the night sky, he too flickered a glance up but there was nothing (yet) waiting to dive on them. "Me? I'm... just a nobody." Xial laughed with a little more genuine amusement, tinged still with uneasiness. "I study plants. Hoping to find things that won't kill us, unlike those worms and... vespers, was it? What about you?" ---- @@wyn + Farrah Benz MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can hear the voice But I don't want to listen Strap me down and tell me I'll be alright
Talwyn was busy studying something up in the sky, with her eyes narrowed in a studious manner. She seemed to not be paying much attention to their conversation. Something about the female dog girl bothered Wyn, and some urge of her to take her precious puppy and run away from the crazy girl was overcoming her. Still. She was injured, so she needed just as much protection as poor Mr. Xiao. Even if she was a complete female dog. Maybe one day she’d hear the word again so she would stop describing it in her head and actually be able to say it. Was it Baghead? Fritch?
Suddenly she stopped walking directly in front of them. Yeah, she wasn’t used to walking with people. Zip came careening down and landed on her shoulder with ease. ”You are not nothing.” She turned on her heels and looked at Xiao with complete earnest in her voice before she spun back around and began to quicken her pace and maneuvering her walking to a few degrees away from where they were going. Her eyes watching the sky. ”We need to go faster please. Or not. But I’m going to go faster, Because slower and that way means death.”
She waved her hand towards the direction they had been heading when she spoke ‘that way’, in the calculations with maneuvering around where Zip had decided was not a good idea, they would have to quicken their pace significantly to detour around. Her expression changing from one of concern to excitement as she faced forward. ”Also! You should try to find a nicotine plant. You will be many peoples best frien and I am sure many people would love you and will protect you. Maybe then there would be less..female dogs..around this planet. Speaking of which... What is your story broken girl? Why do you have a gun and a deceased grandparents vial of unknown substance? Are you a watcher?” Her eyes studied the vial and didn't pay any attention to the girl as she spoke her questions, the mere thought that it was poisonous did not flutter in her mind. Still. Collie was telling her not to lick it. Because, that would make her crazy and Talwyn was not crazy.

they call me a menace they say that i'm cursed row arched, Farrah listened as Xiao put himself down. Well.. he certainly wasn't much to look at, but appearance could definitely be deceiving. "That sounds pretty important to me," she countered, then drew a little closer like they were about to share a secret. "Find anything good so far?"She waited for him to answer before offering any explanation for herself, eventually divulging, "I'm no one important. I don't live in either of the colonies - I like it better on my own." Unlike his, her words weren't tinged with a tender sadness. Her solidarity strengthened her, not weakened. It was the gift that kept on giving, and was what usually gave her the upper hand in conflict. She was so used to watching her own back that it actually threw her off when anyone tried to help. She didn't need it, and she sure as hell didn't want it. The sudden movement caused Farrah to falter, taking a few quick steps back before realizing it was the other girl's bird landing on her shoulder. Apparently quite bipolar, Wyn's rapid change from comforting to demanding caused Farrah to bristle. Squinting at the horizon, she waved the other girl off. "We're perfectly fine, stop worrying," she chastised, not appreciating anyone trying to tell her what to do. A moment later, she realized the girl was starting in a different direction. "Uhm, the mountains are that way," she pointed out, arm jutting directly forward. "Where are you going?"Ever so casually affronted, Farrah stopped dead. "Why are you incapable of minding your own damn business?" she snapped, very suddenly over this interaction. She wasn't going to point out that she had just explained 'what' she was, instead making a show of rolling her eyes and stalking forward - in the direction they'd been going to begin with. "Come on, Xiao," she instructed, voice a little more clipped than it needed to be. She'd apologize later, but first she wanted to get away from the bitch pushing her buttons. Awk-ward! Xiao blinked and had his head on a swivel as he watched the social temperature rapidly declining. "Um... sure." Told to 'come on' in a voice that seemed to brook no argument, he took a hesitant half-step forward, then halted. That escalated quickly... Seriously, one moment things were fine and the next, somebody was stalking away (and trying to take him with her). It seemed like a slight over-reaction but what did he know? He was the type to blab out his life story if anyone was interested in listening. (Preferable, he was told, to him babbling on about his work.) "Wyn? Are you coming?" His voice was cautiously soft as he made a vague beckoning motion. Getting separated seemed like a Bad Idea, especially since there was no real way of telling time, and no guarantees that safety could be found once the sun decided to rise. ---- @@wyn + Farrah Benz MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOXOGRAPHY 2.0

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can hear the voice But I don't want to listen Strap me down and tell me I'll be alright Was she having a temper tantrum? It sure looked like it when the broken armed girl stomped off in the direction that they really shouldn’t go. ”You are crazy.” (hahaha) ”I was simply asking the same questions you asked Xiao. Sorry, what did you say your name was miss lady with a large gun?” Her brow arched before she tilted her head and watched the girl who seemed like she would huff and puff. Oh! That was just like that story her dad told her. Concentrate Wyn. Talwyn watched as Xiao looked at her than the broken armed girl before asking if Wyn would come. Well. No. Obviously. What a weird thing to ask as she had just stated that it was a death sentence going that way. Her right brow arched slightly before she shrugged her shoulder and began walking the way she had originally, a few degrees off kilter from their original walking path. ”Zip tells me not to go that way, so I’m not going that way. He can see a lot better than I, so I tend to agree with him and not some unknown named person. Do not worry though Xiao, if you go with her just scream when you reach trouble and I will hear you. After all, I promised to protect you!”Glancing at the broken girl, she then just understood in that moment why her father always told her humans were idiotic. Sure, she may be a little odd, but at least she understood how the world worked. Well. How danger worked. Well. Okay she atleast knew that way was bad. It was odd that the girl with the gun didn’t understand that you should always follow an animals instincts, she looked like she would know better. Then again, she could just be throwing her temper around, blinding her. Talwyn simply shook her head slowly at Xiao before beginning to walk the way she had originally stated they should go. It would take no time at all for her and Zip to disappear, all the while holding the vial of unknown substances without much forethought.

they call me a menace they say that i'm cursed he hesitated with her next step when Xiao invited the annoying girl along. That was-! Grr... Entirely the opposite of her storming off. Eyeing the vial in Wyn's hands, Farrah's nostrils flared. She didn't know what it was, so it was entirely possible it was some super sterilized water or some shit, which she totally didn't care about. It was that belief that made her flippant about leaving it behind, but something about the fact that it was in a vial made her second-guess her actions. That, and the fact that apparently the hawk had decided there was danger ahead but instead of telling the group like a sane person she just up and changed directions and expected them all to follow blindly. She couldn't speak for Xiao, but that wasn't how Farrah functioned. With a growl of frustration, Farrah rolled her neck and returned to the little gathering. "How about next time you have a Dr. Doolittle moment, you enlighten the rest of us, yeah?" she asked snappily, eyes boring into the back of Wyn's head. It took all of her self-control not to push past the girl, but if they were following an animal's intuition, then it would be an even dumber move to walk ahead of it. With more than just a little extra bitchiness, she waved her hand forward in a motion of can you believe this? while eyeing Xiao. She felt a little bad for leaning on him like that, but she was in too big of a tiff to really care how awkward he felt being put between them. "This is going to seriously put a dent in our downtime," she grumbled, mostly so only Xiao would hear. She could really use a cat nap, and now there was question of whether or not she'd have time for that. Her shins already hurt from booking it to the Point like she had, specifically so she'd have some spare time on the way back. This circumvention added a unknown number of minutes... or hours... onto the trip. [googlefont=Bungee Outline]

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can hear the voice But I don't want to listen Strap me down and tell me I'll be alright
”I am not a doctor, broken girl. But, I am pretty sure I just told you what Zip told me.” Why was the girl telling her to tell them, when she literally just had? Wyn glanced over her shoulder, noting that suddenly the broken girl was following her. Now Talwyn was not someone to dislike people, and she was definitely not one to be rude, but she felt a little triumphant in the fact the girl ended up following her. What an odd feeling, and definitely not something she had ever felt with regards to such a situation before. Why did she care that the girl was following her? It was not as if it was a battle. Perhaps she just didn’t want the girl or Xiao to die.
Then the girl grumbled again. Talwyn rolled her eyes, huffed once, and stopped walking, before looking at the annoying girl. ”You are such a whiney baby.” She stated matter of factly, with no emotion like most women would put in their venom. She did not mean it as an insult, as Talwyn did not understand what insults were. Although this girl was starting to make her realize what they were. She simply stated it as a fact, because at that moment in time Talwyn really did believe it to be a complete, 100%, fact.
”You really should toughen up,” Said the girl in the beaming white sundress as she looked at the stranger ”it is no wonder you are injured just from a little row with the planet. I am not sorry, but I feel like you will slow me down. Go that way if you wish to pout on it some more, although be careful of the Vespers that are surely flocking around because the drop is a magnet to them. You know, easy prey..they like to pluck the single people into the night. .” Talwyn then placed the vial on the ground so the girl could decide to pick it up if she wanted or not. With a quick spin, she turned on her heels and began walking the direction she had stated was safest, not even bothering to look at the girl. Why were girls so whiney? Oh! Not that way, this way. Her brother used to say girls were ‘catty’, but she saw nothing adorably cute about the broken girl.
