For JJ abandoning the tiny abode she had been holed up in had been easy. Seriously, everything she owned fit in her pack. Nothing had arrived for her at the drop as of yet and she was getting mighty irritated. Actually, frustrated was more the word. Here she was trying to protect the great people of PE and she didn’t even had a gun to do it with. Thankfully she hadn’t encountered anything super dangerous yet. The craziest thing she had seen so far was those bear things, and they had seemed pretty relaxed.
It had been getting hotter, and hotter for days and then the scorch had come on and it had been pandemonium, the first day she had hidden in a cave that she had found not to long after setting up her humble abode, weeks earlier. The cave had withstood the scorch, and now hours later night had come.
As it had begun to get hotter, others had already moved north - but JJ had been assigned to stay behind and keep watch. And so she had. She knew that when the time came she would also make for the mountains, and that time was now. When the scorch had set in, she had ushered as many people as possible into her cave, and in the process had gotten a burn on her left hand. It wasn’t awful, but it certainly should have been tended to. But there had been no one left, so JJ had shrugged her shoulders and wrapped it in a piece of cloth.
The others had set off an hour before her, and JJ had stayed behind in the dark, making sure that there was no one else left in the immediate vicinity and then she had begun walking. Shrugging her bag farther up on her shoulders, JJ trucked along - thankful for the night. She had been walking for nearly an hour when she heard a sound to her left that sounds distinctly like a branch breaking. Her hand immediately flew to the knife at her belt as she paused mid-step and listened for another noise.

they call me a menace they say that i'm cursed he'd started moving north before the sun became creepily fatal, but tonight Farrah decided to backtrack a little. She was actually headed for the Drop Point, because she'd bet any money that if a ship came in recently people weren't risking their lives to pick up their stuff. She could use a gun larger than the 9mm revolver she had tucked in the waist of her pants, or maybe a tent... Something to definitively say "this is my place" and keep that annoying, entitled douche bag from ruining any more of her life. She was about halfway between point A and point B when she saw a woman making her way dutifully in the opposite direction. She wouldn't have stopped, but in her distraction Farrah forgot to watch her steps and was rewarded with a sharp snap under her feet. Cringing, she paused a moment. There was no questioning if the woman had heard - in the dim lighting of the moons, she saw quizzical eyes aimed in her direction. Sighing, Farrah hoped that this lady was at least a fraction less annoying that Captain Douchebag, and plastered a smile on her face as she continued forward. "I'm going the wrong direction, I know," she self-chastised, waving a hand through the air. Her hair stood on end as she noted the weapon at the woman's waist, but in an effort to appear harmless Farrah didn't react the way she normally would. "Just taking a midnight stroll before Sol comes back to cook me where I stand." Laughing, she slowed her strides so she wouldn't pass the woman before she could get some information out of her. "I went to the mountains early, so I haven't seen if a shipment has come in. Do you know if anything's been dropped?" There, keep it casual, like you aren't trying to rob people blind. Something about the way this new acquaintance held herself told Farrah she was precisely the wrong person to tell her true intentions to. | ✉ | setting this before she "saves" Logan from the worm (aka her arm isn't yet broken) |

Hot in Herre
It's already been two months since Colette arrived to the colony. Two long months spent in a tropical hellhole somewhere at the other edge of the universe. During those two months, her life changed so radically, she couldn't even keep track of it. From a weirdo alternative jazz musician psych student she turned into a weirdo survivalist jungle medic, and that wasn't exactly how she imagined her near future. Neverthless, she actually found herself to be useful here and in a way, enjoyed working with the other colonists, treating their wounds, both physically and mentally. She never would've expected herself to perform so effectively, so, she was kinda surprised and proud of herself. Also, she found some friends among the colonists, people she could rely on and get along with. As a true extrovert, she was aching for company, for people to talk to, and that was one thing she was lacking when she arrived to this planet. Nowadays, she also regularly went out to sing and play guitar for the local kids, who greatly appreciated her little show.
However, when this so-called 'scorch' came, everything turned upside down again. Suddenly life on the colony became literally unbearable, people had to stay inside for the day, as the sun was melting them like a hot boiling pot, and one could only come out at night when the temperature was somewhat more tolerable. Colette tried to help as many people as possible, treating their burns and other injuries caused by the sun. She still haven't got any packages of hers, but at least, she had her small medkit and some other accessories for her work. They said everyone should move up to the north, and Col helped setting up the colonists for their journey and stayed behind to check everyone and everything was shipped out successfully.
Tonight it was finally her time to move north. Most of her belongings (she only had a few in all, actually) were already transported there by some people she asked to help her move, in exchange for bandaging up a few wounds and stuff. She left the remainder of their colony behind, and started her journey by night, using her tablet device to help her navigate. However, given her great big talent for getting lost, she soon missed the way and found herself alone in the dark, trying to beg her tablet to give her the right direction - but the small device was apparently quite stubborn. It took her almost an hour in the dark until she finally found some signs of life. She heard two people talking somewhere nearby, inside the darkness. She almost jumped up in joy as she realized those two might mean her way out of here, they could probably even escort her to the destination up north.
"Heyyyy! Who's there?", Colette shouted into the darkness, using her small torch to bring some light, but it was mostly futile, "Hello there people!"
