[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] ARCHITECT The builders We've been dropped onto a planet where nothing else exists... which means there's nowhere for us to take shelter. The Architects are crucial to our survival. They pull from the environment – the woods, the stone, the ships – and build our homes. Next time you see one, thank them. Without them, you’d be living in a teepee, maybe. CENSUS: 1 | [attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] CULTIVATOR Farmers These are the ones that grow everything we eat in the unforgiving soils of PE. Don’t forget how much effort it takes to grow something here, especially without the luxuries of machines to plow and sow. Everything is by hand, unless a Tradesmith was kind enough to make them some contraption to hook their horses up to. That’s also provided their horses made it here. CENSUS: 0 |
[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] ENTERTAINER Artists, actors, etc. Let’s face it, we’d all go mad without something to make us forget that our home planet was destroyed. We probably don’t have any of the pros (or maybe we do, who knows), but plays, musicals, stand-up comedy, and magic tricks seem to keep our woes at bay. Don’t underestimate the importance of these guys. CENSUS: 2 | [attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] EXPLORER What's out there? The name sounds cool, sure, but this is an undertaking, and anyone thinking of joining this group should really put thought behind it. These are the ones who will take us beyond Exurbia and Nemus… Maybe even beyond those mountains we can just see in the distance. They report on the land to expand our map, and tell us of any new food or water source they come across. The colonies supply them with enough food for a little while, but carrying that much would weigh them down. They have to hunt and gather just like the Nomads, but they at least have a place to call home and are contributing to this new society. No Explorer is supposed to be gone for more than a PE week, so we’ll only get so far; but once we find another habitable spot, maybe we can start moving people out there and continue the search. CENSUS: 2 |
[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] GENERATOR We'll need power eventually We don’t have it yet, but this is the group who will figure out how to get us electricity. It’s windy, it’s sunny, there’s a river nearby, and we have people who can build pretty much whatever they need to make this happen. Don’t be too hard on them, though – they have a lot to figure out along the way. (For the sake of being realistic, please read this if you wish to join this group!) CENSUS: 0 | [attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] HUNTER Food, please Pretty self-explanatory. Members of this group find wildlife for us to eat. Since we don’t have any way to really keep food (and we don’t know how much “food” is actually out there), they only kill what will remain good and be eaten over the next few days. Any Hunter found to be killing excessively will be put into a group that keeps them within the colony until further notice. CENSUS: 0 |
[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] LEADER Guide us A government is not set up on PE – we’re a pretty free people – but in any group setting, a natural leader will emerge. For a short while, we will have no Leaders, because we’re still figuring each other out. But once these members of our society start to reveal themselves, we can surely put it to a vote. They’ll help keep the peace, because let’s be honest here, not everyone is going to love everyone else. They also make sure the other classes are performing. **CANNOT APP** CENSUS: 0 | [attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] MEDIC We're definitely getting hurt out here The doctors, nurses, etc. that take care of us all. There are a bunch of specialties/subsets in this group, but everyone is pretty limited. Hopefully some of them put a bunch of drugs (the healthy kind) on the supply ships… Or they’re really smart and figure out how to manufacture something. Let’s not hold our breath on the latter, though. CENSUS: 3 |
[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] NOMAD The wanderer; classless Those people who are extra rebellious (or maybe adrenaline junkies?) and want to rough it alone. It would be really nice if they adhered to the social morals of… normal human beings, but who knows with these guys? They don’t contribute to society; they just look out for themselves. But hey, maybe they’re just trying to find their way. Not everyone had a solid idea of what role they wanted to play once they got here, so some wander until they figure it out. At any rate, since they don’t contribute to the colonies, they also don’t reap the benefits of colony life – namely a steady supply of food, water, and shelter. CENSUS: 2 | [attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] SCIENTIST We're gonna have to science the shit outta this Since we had to rush out here on pretty short notice, we have a lot to learn. There are so many subsets of these guys it’s going to be hard to keep track of all of them, but they’re pretty important. The keep track of the weather, the plant life, the animals, the people, the terrain… The list goes on and on. Hopefully, with their combined efforts (and those of the other groups, too), we’ll be able to make PE something kind of close to home. Or, hey, maybe it’ll be better. CENSUS: 1 |
[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] TRADESMITH Metal workers, leather workers, etc. Pretty much anyone who makes anything useful. Can you work with wood to make utensils, equipment? Or maybe the scrap metal we pulled from the ships. How about the hides from the animals that feed us? Nothing goes to waste on PE, and these are the people who figure out how to use it all. CENSUS: 2 | [attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] WATCHER Guard us in the night Our figurative (and literal) protectors. Since we don’t know this planet very well, we don’t really know what’s out there that could kill us, now do we? It’s foolish to assume we’re here alone. Their Watch technically begins at sundown, but they keep an eye out throughout the day, too. Just in case. In the absence of a Leader, the Watchers also act as judges when other classes fail to fulfill their duties. CENSUS: 1 |

[attr="class","picturecontainer"] [attr="class","theinformation"] NATIVE assimilate, or annihilate? The creatures here are smarter than we've given them credit for. They're starting to understand us, while we're too ignorant to really try to understand them. Some have learned how to take on a human form, and now walk among us. They seem to be limited to one- or two-word replies, but so are plenty of people that had a rough time with cryo. They are only distinguishable if you catch them in the same place as the person they're replicating, or if you know the person, of course. The real question is: what's their end-game? Do they want to make nice with us, or finish what Earth started? CENSUS: 3 |
