PERSONALITY maya is a friendly, kind, somewhat shy and adventurous soul. she finds peace out on the open, exploring new areas. she is outgoing by nature, but also introverted. while maya enjoys talking to people, she prefers her own – or an animals- company. maya has a tough time communicating with people due to a slight stutter, which is why its easier for her to hangout by herself. less talking, less having to take care of those who came to PE unprepared.
maya is incredibly stubborn, rebellious and ambitious. braving incredible dangers and proving naysayers wrong are her favorite hobbies other than traveling. sometimes this can get her in trouble – fear is supposed to keep you safe. maya has a nasty habit for biting off more than she can chew, and she doesn’t seem to ever learn her lesson. she must enjoy the chaos.
HISTORY maya was born to two outdoorsy hippies in the forests of eastern washington. her early life was spent living out of a converted school bus camper, driving and exploring the northwestern states. she was taught basic skills – how to grow her own food, how to work on whatever vehicle she was living out of, how to schmooze your way out of trouble, to question ALL authority, and be completely independent.
maya never attended public school, as her parents were morally against having her brain “controlled” by the education system. this was actually a good thing, as she was able to pursue interests for personal pleasure. she loved exploring, so the van life was great. Her favorite game was making maps of all the fictional lands her and her family would go to. this love blossomed into a future career of cartography.
before earth evacuated, she was living in oregon in a fully decked out sprinter camper van, working for the states department of natural resources, mapping various mountain ranges. it was here that she found an abandoned wolf pup, atlas. they quickly became inseparable best friends, adventuring and living in seclusion. sadly, she only had a few months with him before being shipped off to PE.
