PERSONALITY[break] Jamie is serious, logical and realistic, he has a sense of humor, but everything has its time and place in his life and he does not joke around when it comes to survival and safety. As an ex-soldier he has learned to be responsible and dependable, will always follow the rules and accept authority, most of the time won't question decisions made by higher ranks and will be dutiful with assigned tasks. Generally, he is well organized, loves planning and working towards goals. While he appreciates good music or a funny TV show, he lacks imagination or any artistic talents himself, struggles with environments that lack the structure of power, so living on PE can be especially hard. [break][break]
He can get frustrated with people when they are not doing what Jamie thinks they should or when they get themselves into trouble or risk communities safety, he can be insensitive to the hardships of others but will take any psychological trauma very seriously and do his best to help (he has no degree or knowledge in psychology but he will let you talk it out and give his honest advice). Ever since Jamie was a kid, he loved all types of sports, played football, baseball, and soccer in school, he still loves running.[break] [break]
Events before space travel and life on PE have had their toll on Jamie's mental health, he suffers from PTSD gained during deployment days, he has nightmares and lack of appetite, can be easily irritated and often times quiet, has rounds of anxiety attacks and headaches follow soon. Being an Explorer is a perfect job for Jamie since he can get away from the community and enjoy the solitude when needed. But on good days he will enjoy the community, he likes to be a team player and will do his best to work towards a better life for everyone.

HISTORY[break]
There is not much interesting to say about Jamie's life. He grew up in a quite average household in Florida, USA. His dad worked as a truck driver and his mom was a history teacher, he was the only sibling and enjoyed being one. In school, he loved sports, math, electronics, and history, and worked in various local stores during summer to save up some money for video games and small electronic gadgets that he liked to pick apart and put back together (that often didn't end well). He met his future wife during high-school, he fell in love with Dorothy's wit and laugh when she helped him with chemistry homeworks that he was failing miserably at.[break][break]
After graduating high school Jamie enrolled in the United States Air Force Academy to get bachelor's degree and training to become an Air Force pilot. He was struggling with deciding what to study or do with his life and sedentary jobs were not for him, so military sounded like a good option. During his studies, Jamie took flight courses and learned to pilot a propeller driven aircraft. After that, it was all the tests and courses required by Air Forces that Jamie worked hard on. He loved everything he was studying and was excited to be a pilot.[break][break]
Jamie got married at 22 to his highschool sweetheart, shortly before his first deployment. He was a part of Operation Inherent Resolve and in Jamie's mind his life is split into three parts: 1) life before falling in love with Dorothy; 2) life after falling in love with Dorothy and before OIR; 3) life after OIR. Those twelve boots-on-the-ground months he spent in Iraq were the hardest in his life, harder than the struggling life on PE, and Jamie will not willingly talk about them or anything that happened during his deployment. He came home rougher around the edges and was questioning his career choices but there was not much time for that.[break][break]
Soon after his return, Dot got herself into massive trouble, and her life decisions and prison sentence meant court marshaling for Jamie, who in a set of few days lost not only his wife but his job that meant everything to him. Going to PE was almost a welcome opportunity to escape the ugly reality.[break][break]
Jamie arrived on PE thinking that Dorothy was long dead since prisoners were not a priority in saving civilians. He has been on PE for five months and spends his time exploring the new planet, a job that seemed to suit his personality the most. He's a team player and will work with everyone towards a better life but is probably known as the guy who bosses people around when he thinks they are not being the most useful and could do a better job. Jamie is quite lost without the structure of military life but he is learning to take one day at a time.
