[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can't hear you You're talking to yourself
The sun was low in the sky, just starting to rise over it’s nemesis moon. Beautiful colours clouded against the natural blue, shaded only by the random clouds that crossed the horizon. After the Scorch, Talwyn liked to come here in the mornings to enjoy the one thing she was not able to see for what felt like forever. To feel the slight breeze of a morning as the heat seemed to die down. To feel the wind through her hair, and the touch of nature on her skin. It was what brought her peace. It was what made her not feel quite so lone in this lonely world they had arrived on. It was, It was just beauty.
After her meeting with Colette, and the music that played from that weird book that she had been holding, Wyn had an urge. An itch. She needed to play music, and she needed to free herself from her thoughts and the best way to do that would be with her own two hands. With her tools, and a nice strong piece of wood, she worked for the entirety of the Scorch to bring forth the one thing she had longed for. And there it sat, her hands running along the fine sanded grain, touching the strings that were taught enough, and smiling the most secret of smiles. With more than a hint of affection, her fingers ran it’s course before she raised it upwards.
The violin had taken forever to get, just right. The strings, well she had no strings so one may notice that her hair was suddenly a lot shorter. But hair was hair. Violin, was perfection. Placing the violin under her chin, she let her eyes slip shut before the first note rang out in the silence of an early morning. Her body swaying ever so slightly as each tune echoed perfectly under her finger tips. How long had it been since she had heard it? How long had the release of emotion could be brought forth within nature. Her hawk flew in swoops around her, diving down almost as if in dance to the music itself.
What a wonderful day today would be. What a wonderful, and perfect day. She could be the most lonely person in the world, but now that she had her violin, now that she finally had her music, she didn’t feel so alone. Even Collie seemed pleased with the vibrations that could be heard. Even Collie seemed to dance for the slightest of moments with Zip her hawk, before disappearing as she always did when music was around. The girl in the white sundress began to sway, and twirl ever so slightly with her bare feet gliding through the grass of the wilderness.

c elia woke with a start - startled awake from the sounds of her own snoring. she had fallen asleep in the grasses a while ago - how long? she couldn't remember. she was just having the most fantastic dream... swimming through the cosmos and slapping planets from their gravitational orbits. how fun! celia took her time getting up, these old bones just didn't work like they used to. she admired the sky, sweeping pink and blue hues mixed together with deep orange creating a beautiful picturesque view. she was awake and in real life right? celia pinched the skin on her hand. right. she had nothing in particular on her agenda today. since arriving on PE, celia had been studying the plants and animals of the planet. the creatures were easier to study, whereas plants would require laboratory equipment to get a close look of the cells. because she had forgotten to pack her things in the rush to evacuate earth, and thus far she hadn't met any other scientist, she resorted to having other people eat the plants. what, you thought that she would eat them herself? god no, that would be irresponsible! how could celia be a scientist if she died from some sort of poisoning? she was right in the middle of nibbling on a blade of grass when she heard music. she felt around the back pocket of her pants, looking for her cassette tape. still there! so, where was it coming from? celia's feet started walking her in the direction she heard it from before SHE even realized what has happening. oh this is what we're doing now? she hobbled over a hill, panting slightly as her view expanded over the grassy fields of exurbia. the bird caught her eye first - floating to and fro with the breeze, seeming to dance with the girl who the music was emanating from. celia excitedly hurried over, feet shuffling gently through the ocean of soft grass. normal humans would have made a greeting, some small talk or something of the sort. celia didn't think of such pleasantries and instead just got to the point. "oh wow! that was you, huh? did you make that? it's so pretty and well carved, could use a protective glaze but we've no shortage of wood here. here! i can make something to go along with that, listen," she rambled, dropping to her knees to search for the perfect blade of grass. celia expertly wove a few pieces together, lifting the grass to her mouth and blowing a soft riff.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can't hear you You're talking to yourself
Talwyn had never been more joyous, or at peace, than that very moment. With the music flowing through her veins, and her friend dancing to the curve of the wind. It was pure, simplistic, serenity. At least until a hobbling old woman came up rather unexpectedly and began to comment on the violin in her grasps. Her eyes had been closed, but they snapped open a moment later to stare at the little woman before her face contorted from peaceful to a magnificent smile. It’s brilliance flashed before she held out the violin away from her chin to study it. ”I have no glaze, but you are right!” She hoped it would last, at least from the rain.
Then when the woman raised a piece of grass to her lips, Wyn’s eyes widened ever so slightly at the tune. ”You are a genius! A magnificent genius!” She raised her bow and strung out a note that echoed what the crooked woman did, playing to the flute of a flick of grass and some crazy woman who seemed to enlighten immediately to Talwyn. As ever non-judgemental, or perhaps overtly judgemental, Talwyn playted the soft note with her before she slowly lowered her bow and studied the woman curiously and how she was nothing like anyone Wy had ever seen before.
”Why is your hair like that? It looks rather hard” The girl reached out and poked at a dread, watching as it wavered slightly before she retrieved her hand again. Her head tilted to the side ever so slightly, studying the woman and her odd looking hair. It seemed almost as if it was dirty, but she also knew that leaning over and smelling the strangers hair may be out of the norm. Perhaps Wyn was learning a bit of social conduct, after having been on a planet filled with people that always seemed to try to correct her. Including Collie. And because introductions were never quite proper in Wyn's head, instead of giving her name she exclaimed with fever: "I am going to call you Lady Mah. What will you call me?"

c elia's lungs gave up on whistling way before she wanted to. why did she never take the time to learn how to breathe WHILE breathing?! now that earth was gone, that knowledge would be lost to the void. what a sad thought. oh wait, the girl was talking! celia snapped to, eyes fixating on ms violinist. her? a genius? why yes, that was entirely correct! only with certain things. a wise woman accepts that in reality, she knows nothing! wait, did that mean she was dumb? bah, that debate was for another time. celia was mumbling these thoughts to herself, hand waving haphazardly in the air. she stopped when the girl reached her hand towards her hair. she really needed to stop narrating her own life to herself, people were going to judge her. celia held her belly while she chuckled at her comment. "this is medusa hair! it can turn people to stone, you know. dont worry," celia shook her head slightly, waving her dreads, "these ones are safe." she nodded, as if that added legitimacy to her claim. celia brought her hand up to adjust her glasses, considering her new nickname. lady mah? that had quite a ring to it; she approved. not only that- she got to CHOOSE a nickname for her too? wow what a lucky day. she took a moment to examine her - long dark hair, very pretty blue eyes, and an aura that shone a color words could not quite describe. "aster!" celia exclaimed, eyed wide as if she had discovered a hidden secret. "aster is greek for star. how interesting, hm?" she continued, attention slightly wavering. train of thought was leaving the station, celia zoned out before remembering there was something super interesting to show her! she reached in her back pocket, flaunting her cassette player. she only had one cassette - with a beethovens moonlight sonata tape. "have you heard of him?" celia asked, not knowing she didn't mention beethoven out loud. sometimes her mind and reality meshed and she wasnt sure if she was talking out loud or just thinking. she offered aster an earplug, rewinding her tape to the beginning.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] I can't hear you You're talking to yourself
Medusa’s hair? Talwyn studied the woman for the briefest of moments before abruptly she changed the topic to her name of Aster. Talwyns smile shone brightly as the name registered to her and she found herself quite pleased. Lady Mah had definitely put thought into it, and that made her the greatest person Wyn had ever met. Everyone else just looked at her like she was crazy. ”Thank you LadyMah, I love my new name” Talwyn couldn’t help the overwhelming urge to touch the ladies snake hair again before pulling her hand away just as quickly. She had decided she much preferred her own hair, even if it did tangle in branches quite often.
That was when some strange electronic was taken out. Was it like the weird window thing that Colette had? Her eyes studied it, scanning over before a little piece of it on a rope was offered to Aster. She definitely was unsure what to do with it, but as soon as she heard the quiet sound of music coming from the little piece. Her eyes glanced down at it before she held it up to her face to listen to the music, and after brief hesitation her eyes lit up. She shoved the thing in her ear, ”He is beautiful.” was her whispered exclamation before she lifted her violin and began to play in tune perfectly. Music is what brought ones soul out. It allowed it to scream from the heavens until nothing but it’s stillness was present. Music was, in all sense of the words, therapy to Talwyn.
”Collie disappears when there is music. It is the only time I find silence. It is beautiful. He is beautiful. This contraption is beautiful. You are lucky to have it” She had lowered her bow and looked at the unqieu woman before her before she abruptly swung her arms in a big hug over her shoulders. Hugging her tightly against her as if she had bestowed upon Talwyn the greatest gift she could have.

c elia nodded, but to what she wasn’t quite sure. she chuckled to herself as she observed aster’s reaction to the earplugs. aster must have not seen them before – but she was a quick learner, following celia’s lead to put the end piece in her ear. ah, how beautiful and calming beethoven was. she leaned back and forth, swaying with the music as aster played in perfect key on her violin. celia blinked a few times, taking mental pictures of the perfect moment. serenity settled in her soul, and suddenly she was somewhere else. music was all she heard, and it seemed that the grass WAS an ocean, and they were swaying to and fro with the waves. the violin was the ship, and aster was the captain. for every crescendo, they would climb atop a wave the size of a mountain, crashing down in a beautiful adagio, slow meandering current. she was brought back to reality when aster set her violin down to hug her. aster probably wouldn’t notice, but celia wiped a tear from her cheek. she’d remember this moment forever. but what was it aster was saying? sentences echoed in her subconscious as she fished for the answer. oh! collie? celia returned her hug with a tight squeeze, then leaning back on her heels. “ who is collie? and why would he disappear, we were having so much fun!” she clutched her cassette tape, then continued “we can listen to it whenever we find each other again.” celia quite adored her, but she knew they wouldn’t be around each other constantly. stomach rumbling, celia positioned herself so that she could dig in her pockets once more. she had something to eat if she could just… reach it. there! she pulled a handful of prickly acorns. well they were similar to acorns, but more oblong in shape. a pinecone acorn (say that 5 times fast) if you will. these were some of celia’s favorite treats. she found them by chance when she was chasing a squi through nemus. the little bugger teamed up with other squis and she was pelted mercilessly, but she got these out of it so it was a success! celia pinched the acorn with her fingers, face hard as she tried to crack the hard outer skin. CRACK. she shoveled the nut out, admiring its smooth texture and earthy color. they tasted similar to earth almonds, except these ones made you feel like you were floating! celia nibbled at once, and offered her hand to aster so that she could try.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Who is collie?
' I like her. She has kind eyes. ' The five foot nothing little blonde was standing on her tip toes, her hands locked behind her back as she appeared right next to them. Her attention was not on talwyn though, no, it was fully on the eccentric woman infront of Wyn. She was looking with curiosity before she reached one hand out and ran her finger over the strangers cheek bones along the line where her tear had fallen. Tracing the line of moisture before she snagged her hand back and locked it behind her back again, the smallest of pouts creasing between her brows. ' She was crying, but she is happy. ' “Collie is..” Talwyn attempted to keep her eyes focused purely on Lady Mah as she took out a pinecone acorn and cracked it in her hands. Yet the girl who was pretty much in Lady’s face was very distracting. Why was Collie here? She had barely been around the past few weeks, not since she had climbed the tree with Ezra. She popped in and out, but barely seemed to speak. Although, to be fair, Wyn was not really doing anything dangerous lately. Just focused on creating her woodwork. When Lady Mah offered her a nut, she offered a tiny smile before shaking her head from side to side lightly. Collie was trying to inch closer to the woman, staring at her face as if it had a story written on it. Talwyn bit on her lower lip slightly before shrugging one shoulder and then spinning on her tip toes once before facing Lady Mah again. The woman seemed odd, weird, eccentric and with such openness that trust was instantly given where she had never offered before. “She is my friend. She keeps me company, although she does not exist.” Wyn knew she didn’t exist, she was not stupid. She was not childish. She was just…different. She knew her friend did not exist and at the same time, what could one do when she was right there? Wyn may see an invisible person, but she wasn’t crazy. Perse'.
