I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive The darkness was overwhelming, but even more so was the rain. It didn’t just pelt down, it dumped down and soaked everything in it’s wake. His squad was trained. Well trained. This was the only thing preventing the five – no now four- soldiers from slipping in what felt like two feet of sinking mud and pools of water. At some points they were wading through what seemed like black water up to their hips and using the end of their rifles to fling the anaconda’s away from them. Crackle. Bang. Lightning illuminated the sky allowing a reprieve from the pure darkness. But the light was unwelcome to all, especially Logan. He crouched down low to the ground to blend in with the mud. The mere fact his entire body was covered in it boded well. Lightning meant the area was like a beacon from those they were trying to get past. From those much more aware of their surroundings, as they had trained and lived in the jungle their entire life. Another loud bang. Lightning? No. This time there was no light to accompany it. Gunfire. Logan could hear the scream of his squad mate, but he already knew it was too late as the bullet pierced through his neck, cleaving away any chance at life. His thoughts screamed at him silently. Move. Move. MOVE. Now three.”
Logan’s eyes snapped open to stare at what was an illuminated cave ceiling. Stillness. PE had been still for so long before the rain had hit. That's probably why he dreamed what he did. And now that it had stopped, now that it had subsided to the heat again, perhaps, perhaps he could leave. Even though panic had gripped his thoughts for just a moment, once awake his first thought was how he wasn’t completely drenched in sweat. The first thing he did was toss out a piece of meat into the sunlight, before he leaned against the small cave he had called home for the past month. His blue eyes stayed on the piece of meat, watching it as the sun rose. Watching it as the shadows turned just slightly with the movement of the sun. When that piece of meat did not burn to a crisp, the weight he had not known he’d had on his shoulders, lifted. It had started to get to him. The lack of sunlight. The lack of freedom. He had felt trapped for way too long and just when he thought perhaps the Scorch would never end…Just when he was starting to get very very irritable..The temperature dropped and silent relief flooded him.
Instantly he began digging out his bag and slung it over his shoulder, as well as attaching his blades and putting his rifle over his shoulder. His first step outside into the sunlight instantly blinded him. Squinting he put a hand to his face, as if that would help block out the beautiful but deadly shriek of light. His retinas protested. His brain protested. But his body. That breeze. The breeze was what got him. Dropping his hand he looked around and suddenly what was so still only a few hours prior, seemed to bustle with life. Not visible, but you could almost hear the difference. The scurrying of pitter patter across the hard rock. The silent drift of unseen wings in the sky. A slow smirk crossed his lips, but it was the only visible sign of pleasure about the sudden change of events, and then he walked. He walked like he hadn’t been able to walk in what felt like years. A soldier was not meant to be stagnant for so long. Sure, the pushups, the knee kicks, the running at night helped but there was nothing like exploring the vastness of this putrid nasty planet.
The hours of walking drained his previous dream. Pushing the thoughts past and away from his present mind as fast as possible. It did not good to dwell on the past. It did not good to continually think over the lives he could have saved. The lives he had lost. His brothers who had never returned home nor the look on their loved ones faces when the news was given. The casket was buried. The flag was presented. The medal was rewarded. Logan grunted before picking up a huge rock and chucking it into the nothingness that was a large field. Perhaps being a lone for so long hadn’t helped him. He was grateful to the change in temperature, grateful to be able to be free again. Yet being cooped up for so long had put him in a bad mood, for lack of better words. The large rock fell before he moved on. It was pointless to lose your temper. Logan didn’t lose his temper. Logan didn’t let things get to him. Control. It was his main focus. Control. Control over himself. Over his circumstances. One could never rely on others. That was why he had never stayed long with those he had found entertaining.
Finally his destination was reached. Even if he didn’t really have a destination. His eyes scanned the large body of water. The river, was dead. It hadn’t rained yet, but he assumed it would soon. One could not go that long, with that much heat, without rain – And he would welcome it. Instead of the river, he stared at the large body of water that seemed a little lower than it probably had been two months ago. His eyes scanned it and then around the area before he instantly walked into the water fully clothed. The coolness could be felt as his pants stuck to his legs. The image of walking through waist high bloody water flashed in his mind before he stopped walking. His eyes scanning the empty water which was clear to the bottom (so at least there were not creepy crawlies). Distracted, he tried to focus onto the present. Images of unpleasantness stung at his brain before he blinked his eyes into focus. Attention pinpointed onto a rock in the surprisingly clean water and the urge to punch the crystal like surface overwhelmed him so instead he grabbed his hands in a cup and splashed his face and try to clear the anxiety that seemed to have crept up on him. Everything was on edge, even the beautiful cooling of the water didn’t seem to help.
Gods what he wouldn’t do for a smoke or a good tequila shot.

The change from deadly, searing heat and sunlight to something that was a little more pleasant was ... sudden. Riley didn't trust it just as she didn't trust anything else on the planet they'd all been haphazardly shipped to. She'd come to view the plant itself as a living creature that knew there were humans on it and was actively trying to kill them -- as ridiculous as that whole concept was. Still, she wouldn't be surprised if they were lulled into a false sense of security only for the searing heat to return and cook them all to a crisp. So she waited and she watched as the colonists all began to leave, one by one. They all seemed so happy, so excited that they could return home. The very idea made Riley snort because there was no place on Petra Exterior that any of them could call home. They weren't meant to be there and yet there they were. Eventually her resolve broke and she ventured out into the sunlight and immediately hated how good it felt because she still didn't trust it. A heavy sigh slipped past Riley's lips and she looked around, at everyone packing up their shit and hauling it down the mountains back toward Exurbia and Nemus. It was stupid, they were all going back to absolutely nothing. The sun had burnt everything to a crisp and had even melted down the metal hulls of the ships they'd arrived on. It was like the planet was trying to kill them and erase any trace of them ever being there. The animals were leaving too, though. She could see the little squirrel-like creatures all scurrying over the rocks back down toward the forest. So maybe the scorch ha truly ended? Animals seemed to have a sixth sense about certain things. Still, Riley wasn't ready to pack everything and haul it back down to the colony. "Let's go, Sam." She said, instead, because it had been a while since she'd been able to take the dog on a proper walk. The pair headed down from their cave and Riley picked a random direction and began walking. She would stop every now and again, pick up a stick, albeit a scorched one, and throw it for the dog to run after and bring back. Hours seemed to pass but she kept walking because, even though she didn't trust it, it felt so good to be out in the sunlight and stretch her legs. It wasn't until she reached a huge body of water -- an ocean, maybe? -- that she finally stopped walking. It was a full five minutes before she realized that she wasn't the only one there staring at the water and when she finally noticed the man there her eyes narrowed. Even from a distance -- and only really seeing him by firelight -- she remembered the infuriating man. She crossed her arms against her chest and walked toward him. "How's your nose?""."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive Logan had been so focused in his own world, he hadn’t heard Riley walk up to the waters edge. Too distracted by his own thoughts, which was definitely not like him at all. Lucky her voice broke him out of the stress in his body. Everything felt wire tight. His chest. His neck. Stress and fatigue and images of a past that he would much rather not have to deal with screaming at him as soon as his eyes shut. So wire tight that it was amazing he didn’t whip around and throw his blade at the intruder into his own silent world. Yet he wasn’t like many he knew, even lost he was always on point. If it was one thing Logan was, it was that he was in control. Or perhaps that was just a façade. Who knew. As soon as her voice hit him, Logan turned to look back at her with a smug grin wiping away his worries instantly.
His eyes cast over her for a moment before his answer to how his nose is doing could be heard: ”Beautiful as always.” The double entendre on his response caused that smug grin to widen ever so slightly. Knowing she’d scoff at him. Or call him an idiot. Or just ignore it. His hand raised slightly and touched the bridge of his nose as if to make sure it was still okay, before he began to walk back towards her. How long had it been since he’d seen her? Time here was so fluid. Everything just seemed to blend together, days, nights, everything. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that each sun fall took so much longer than they were used to on Earth. Or perhaps it was because he spent so much time alone, that he lost count simply because he rarely seemed to sleep. Except during the rain fall. For some reason, during the rainfall he slept like he hadn’t in months.
It was very odd to not be punching her in the face. Because. Well. It just was. Which in itself would be an odd statement if you did not know how they met. He walked until he was almost out of the water and standing infront of her by two feet. His pants seemed to cling to him in that annoying way they did when wet. He half expected a question as to why he was walking through water upto his waist fully clothed, but wouldn’t really have a response to that. Hell, he barely remembered how he had gotten into the water to begin with. He crossed his arms over his chest, to hide the fact that for some reason his hand was still shaking a bit from before. How odd was it though, that the girl who hated everyone actually had bothered to come and actually talk to him first? She could have moved on without much fret. ”So that is what you look like.” The statement was matter of fact, more so because he'd never seen her out of darkness. The same small smile on his face that seemed to make people want to punch him or kick him in the nether regions.

"Right." Riley said, one eyebrow raising at his beautiful as always comment. The smug grin that crossed his face gave her the distinct urge to slap it right off, but she held her ground because she wasn't in the mood to fight with him. She definitely hadn't forgotten just how hard he hit and she remembered that he liked to keep a knife hidden somewhere on his well muscled body. She bit the inside of her cheek and looked down at the dog who was sitting obdeiantly beside her. It wasn't until she could hear water splashing that she looked back up and she watched as he walked toward her. Just as she began to wonder just how close he planned on getting to her he stopped -- thank god. "Do you always wade into water fully clothed?" She asked, her head tilting. "You'd put on a better show if you were undressed." Wait, was that a joke? The smirk on her face seemed to suggest so. So that is what you look like. The matter-of-fact statement made Riley hold her arms out to her sides and she turned in a slow circle. "Are you disappointed?" She asked and, if Logan knew better, he would say that he wasn't because it wasn't that smart to piss off one of the only medics on Petra Exterior. The smile on his face, however, seemed to suggest that he was not disappointed. Her arms dropped and she crossed them again. "Why are you out here?" She found herself asking even though it didn't really matter. "Most of the colonists have already left for Exurbia and Nemus.""."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive Why did everyone always feel the need to punch or slap him all the time. His mind went to Ezra and the good one to the jaw he’d gotten, the bruise was still slightly visible through his five o clock shadow. As Riley spoke about him being fully clothed, he was already taking his bag off from around his shoulder and tossed it casually behind her, the smallest of laugh escaping from his throat at her commend on that he should be undressed. In a smooth motion, he grabbed his blade and tossed it behind her as well with his bag and unhooked his rife from around his shoulder and leaning forward to put it just out of reach of the water.
She had actually made a joke. That alone seemed to diminish his previous stress. Ignoring the bitter mood he had been only moments before. Perhaps Riley was feeling a bit boisterous today, although he had noticed that a majority of people were feeling rather chipper since the Scorch ended. Everything seemed to be brighter since it broke into that rain. The heat was still there, but it was not all consuming as before. A bark of a laugh came out of him as her arms spread out and she twirled around. This. This was definitely a side he hadn’t seen when she was beating the shit out of him. Yet, he wondered how long it would really last? He didn’t even bother commenting about if he was disappointed, as it was obvious to his answer based on his absolute amusement instead of scowl.
”I am out here because why not? You know I do not care for the colonists. I still do not understand why you bother with their neediness” He spoke as he simultaneously removed his shirt, the only part of dry clothing he had on him, and casually tossed it aside. That smirk. That knowing smirk he gave her before he took a slow step towards her to close the space. Eyes seeming to dance with amusement. She didn’t know that he had no idea how he had really gotten there. One foot in front of the other in a daze to knock away his demons. Everyone had them, and no one needed to know it. In one smooth motion that was expertly deployed from his vast street knowledge, his fingers picked her lighter and cigarettes from her pocket with barely any movement shown and then tossed them away from her.
And then he tossed her into the water in one smooth motion

It was ... surprising that he actually seemed to take what she'd joked about seriously. Or, at least, it seemed that he was taking it seriously with the way he tossed the bag and the blade onto the ground behind her. The rifle followed, though he seemed to be far more careful with that than he had the knife. The shirt came off next and Riley couldn't help but look appreciatively at the muscles that obviously came from years of hard work. But then she snorted and rolled her eyes. "Show off."Thankfully he'd commented on the colonists neediness, which gave her something to focus on. "Their neediness is good for business." She answered. "I don't always set broken bones and stitch wounds for free." But she'd definitely owed him that much since she'd kind of broken his nose... and because he'd saved her from being eaten by a vesper. Whatever. Riley was a stubborn woman, so when Logan began to approach her again she stood her ground with her arms crossed. "What do you think you're doing?" She questioned, unamused by just how close he'd gotten. Had it not been for Sam's keen eyesight she wouldn't have even known that he'd picked her pockets, but the dog's growl and bared teeth was enough for her to know that he'd been up to no good. And then she was in the water. She coughed and gasped for a breath as she resurfaced. "You bastard!" She spluttered as she finally got her bearings back and stood. The water was waist deep and surprisingly cool considering the intense heat of the Scorch. Instinctively she reached into her pocket, expecting to find her totally soaked cigarettes and lighter, but there was nothing. "...what?" And then it hit her. That was why Sam had started growling. Her gaze found Logan and she stared at him. "Well are you just going to stand there like an idiot?""."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive Logan burst out laughing as she sputtered up and called him a bastard. The deep guttural sound escaping as he grabbed at his stomach from the ----. To be honest he was quite shocked that Sam had not ripped his hand off when he had gone for the smokes. It really did surprise him, as he was half expecting it but hey, what was life without a little risk? When her little ‘what’ was released and she realized what he had done, he laughed again. How long had it been since he’d actually laughed? Probably since he had last hung out with the only person he actually considered a friend. Zee. Logan always had acquaintances, which was how he liked it on Earth. Even if it seemed like he was getting to know more and more people, the list of people he actually could laugh with was ridiculously small. Actually, come to think of it, he did actually laugh when he was around people since arriving. But more so...at them...not with them.
The motion of tossing her into the water had pushed him farther in as well, settling around just below his waist and a good few feet away from her. How relaxing it felt to be able to be in cold water once again. How long had it been before he actually had been semi-cool? The Scorch seemed to last forever, and the heat had barely dwindled. His hair was already barely wet, only minutes after he had finished soaking his hair. How ever he had gotten here, or why ever he had come here, he was actually quite grateful. Besides, it felt nice to not have to run for his life for once. It seemed half the time he met someone, something horrible happened. Seriously. Part of him felt the planet was gaining up on all the humans that arrived. It was as if the plants, the animals, had their own code and the humans were infiltrating their base. Which was a ridiculous thought. Animals did not have conscious thought after all.
”Stand here like an idiot?” Repeating her phrase, obviously loving every minute of her mock despair. His eyes lit with mischief as he looked at the sopping wet girl in the water before him. His arms crossing over his bare chest as he obviously eyed what was visible above the water. Logan tilted his head for a moment, and seemed to lean back ever so slightly as if in appreciation. ”Hmm..Don’t mind if I do actually. Do you mind doing that nice little twirl for me again?” His one hand stretched out, his index finger pointing down before circling it to mimic the movements that she had done earlier in her little twirl. Okay. Maybe he was loving this entire situation a little more than he would admit, and even if it caused him to get kicked in the nether regions he would definitely not regret it. At least he was smart enough to have saved her cigarettes, otherwise he'd probably not be alive right in that moment.

"That's what I said." Riley huffed as Logan repeated her question -- like an idiot. She raised an eyebrow as he crossed his arms and seemed to lean back as he looked at her. If anything it made her all the more aware of how her soaking wet clothes were sticking to her in a way that left little to the imagination -- lucky him. If she were a self conscious woman she would have tried to hide, but she was not so she stood there defiantly. Logan could stare all he wanted for all she cared, it didn't bother her the least little bit. "Getting a little demanding, are we?" She questioned when he motioned for her to spin around again. Part of her wanted to refused, but there was another part of her that was definitely a show off. She walked several steps closer then stopped and held her arms out as she spun in a circle like Logan had demanded requested. "Still like what you see?" Psh, of course he did. What was there not to like? Once her little spin was complete she stood facing Logan. "Your turn." Riley said, her head tilting. "Do a little twirl for me." She mimicked the same motion that he'd given to her when he'd told her to twirl. Honestly, she didn't expect him to do what she'd said and twirl, so when he did she was momentarily shocked into just staring. But then his back was turned to her and she had her opportunity. Riley hurriedly moved closer and jumped onto Logan's back to shove him down into the water because there was no way she'd be able to pick him up and throw him like he'd done to her. "."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive What a dopey look he had on his face when she actually twirled for him. So many girls he had grown up with were always so tough, until the truth came out. So far Riley was by far the most narcissistic girl he had ever met. Not only that but she had a punch worth something, which said a lot as he had a lot of knowledge in how it felt to be punched by girls. When she finished twirling and asked if he still liked what he saw, all he could do was roll his eyes in exaggeration at her attitude about it. Okay. Maybe Riley would be trouble for him, but it was best if he didn’t think on where his mind automatically wandered when she did her little twirl.
”You know, your tongue is supposed to be in your mouth”Was his response to her staring at him as he did a little twirl, before abruptly she leapt onto his back. His arm instinctively hooking around her legs to hold her on him, and yet despite her very adamant attempt, he remained standing with her on his back and one eye brow lifting as he tilted his chin back slightly to look at her as best he could.
”Were you…Were you trying to do something there? Because I am pretty sure you failed miserably. ” His complete enjoyment over the failed attempt bubbling through his voice as he tried to mock her through his laughter. Although the sudden weight on him had taken him by surprise, it was not enough to unravel his stance on the ground. If anything her little tiny weight just had him bark out a laugh, as it was quite comical how she tried to dunk him. She may pack a wallop, but Logan was sturdy as a board. ”Wait, Maybe it was supposed to go like-“ He suddenly jumped back wards so they both dunked into the water. The coolness splashing against his face before he surfaced a moment later, laughing as he sputtered slightly and finished his sentence ”that.” And enter smug, sopping wet smirk.

"You're assuming my tongue is actually hanging out of my mouth." Riley snorted, though she had to admit to herself she liked what she saw. Let's just say if they'd been in a strip club she'd be throwing a few dollars his way. But they weren't and he was putting on his little show for free. It was disappointing when he didn't fall when she jumped onto his back. "Son of a bitch." She cursed, surprised, when she felt his arms hook around her legs to keep her where she was... on his back. The risk of slipping and falling backwards was pretty high, so she wrapped her arms around his neck to keep from doing so. Just to rub it in her face he had to point out just how miserably her plan failed, which did made her deflate a little bit. Riley knew that clinging to Logan's back was a very bad place to be and that was only proven when he suddenly jumped backwards and dunked them both into the water. She let go of him and swam for the surface. She coughed as she resurfaced and pushed her hair back out of her face. "Ass." She muttered, but the grin on her face was proof enough that she was having fun ... and it had been a long time since she could say that she'd actually enjoyed herself. Instinctively, Riley grabbed for Logan's arm partly because she needed a little bit of security, but mostly because she'd already concocted a plan in her head. "Okay, okay. You got me. Truce?" Her eyebrows raised and she waited expectantly for Logan to agree -- though she wouldn't have been a bit surprised if he said no. When he finally did answer her she took the opportunity to pull him close and kiss him, but not because she found him attractive in an arrogant and annoying way. That totally wasn't it. The sole purpose was to catch him by surprise. Her hands moved to his shoulders and she shoved him down under the surface of the water, laughing. "."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive When she asked for a truce, and raised her eye brows upwards – Damn. How could someone look so innocent who was so obviously not. In any way shape or form. Form. His mind wandered instantly before he shoved the thought away and shrugged his one shoulder in a casual manner. ”If you say so. You just saying that because I won.” The flippant remark was cast off though as he felt himself get pulled forward and then. Was she kissing him? It totally threw him off in every way imaginable. Definitely not because it was her kissing him. No. Just the whole thing in general. Pft. It threw him off enough that he didn’t even notice when her hands were on his shoulder, or when abruptly he was pushed under water. Having jumped backwards, the sudden drop of floor under water caused him to have no capabilities of using his legs to support himself.
It didn’t take long for him to come up, sputtering and looking slightly disoriented before he narrowed his eyes at her. One word held on his tongue that he would never call her again. Well. If he was smart. Last time he let the word bitch loose around her he ended up with a broken nose. See? Logan can learn his lesson sometimes. ”That was cheating.” Was his pouting response as he rubbed a hand over his face to clear the water droplets. The little pout held his smile though before his arm reached out and pulled her closer to him. Close until she was against him and he could easily lean in to kiss her. A breath away, peering down at her before he seemed to almost whisper "Cold water is what you need”and abruptly splashed her before barking out another laugh. ” And a cigarette. Since I am prince charming –“ Apparently he just announced himself prince charming to everyone. But well. It was true.
He paused for just a moment as he backed away from her towards the shore. Laughter sparkling his eyes as he glanced back towards the dog and where he had put everything. ”And saved them from the jerk who threw you in the water. I think you should share one with me. Because I’m nice. And beautiful.” That and as much as he enjoyed staying in the cool water with her, maybe he needed to put a bit of space between them. Also. You know, swimming in unknown depths of water with unknown creatures only inches from their feet and no weapons really did not seem like someone would do on PE. Earth? Yes (forsomereason) Petra Exterior? Hell no.

Riley couldn't help but laugh when Logan accused her of cheating. "Was not." She defended even though it really had been an underhanded move on her part. "That was..." What was the word that Chuck had liked to throw around? Tactical something? Whatever, she assessed the situation and came up with a plan to accomplish her goal and that was all that had mattered in the end. "You're just sore because I tricked you..."But her voice trailed off when he pulled her so close that she was pressed against him. Her eyes narrowed as he seemed to lean a little closer to her -- close enough that she could feel his breath fan across her face. "What...?" He couldn't really be thinking about doing the same thing to her that she had just done to him. Seriously dude, come up with your own material. Stop dillydallying and kiss me. And then he splashed her with water after suggesting that she needed it. "I think you're the one that needs the cold shower." She huffed. There was a mix of emotions when he released her and backed away -- it was stupid how being isolated could make someone seek out and crave attention -- but she didn't dwell on it long when he referred to himself as Prince Charming.Really? Really?"Who lied to you and told you that you were Prince Charming?" She asked, rolling her eyes as he claimed to save her cigarettes -- which he had. If he had thrown her in with them and ruined them she would have tried to drown him. She swam for the shore then walked the rest of the way once her feet were finally able to touch the ground again. Wait. Share a cigarette with him? Since when did she share. Riley stepped onto the solid ground and looked at Logan. "Seriously?" She bunched her shirt up to try and wring some of the water out of it. "Convince me to share with you.""."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive Isolation was not really anything to him. It wasn’t really the isolation part, it was more the entire aspect of being on a different planet. Humans were the only thing he knew on this land. The only familiar thing when he grew up knowing and being able to predict most situations. That mixed with all the danger. Well even the most sour of beings would want to be around the only familiar thing possible.
One moment he was about ready to punch the crap out of nothing, and the next someone else was there and he was laughing and enjoying someones company. A grumpy persons company who seemed less grumpy today than usual. Damn. This planet was fucking weird. Even the normal was unnormal.
Logan swam and then exited out of the water just after her. He could almost see the indecision to share her smoke with him. To be fair, she had offered him one before even though it seemed to have almost stabbed her in the heart to do so. He’d declined, because, naturally, he didn’t want it that bad and she’d probably regret if she’d given it to him, forever. Somehow he had a feeling she would hold a grudge against him for small things. Except punching her in the face. So at least she had her priorities straight.
Running his hand through is hair to shake off whatever water droplets he can before he flopped down onto the sand and leaned back against his bag. ”Convince you? I think you should because …” He paused, glancing up at her in slight thought, wondering how it was that he could convince her and knowing there was not much he could do. before grinning again. ”I think it’s the least you could do after taking advantage of me like that in the water. I mean I know you couldn’t help yourself - ” He paused and ran his hand over his abs as if to emphasis before laughing up at her ”But still. Just jumping my bones like that. You definitely should share.”

Once Riley was satisfied that she was able to wring as much water out of her shirt as possible without taking it off she smoothed the material back down. She started wringing the water from her hair and turned to look at Logan as he made himself comfortable while he tried to come up with reasons to convince her that she should share her cigarettes with him. Back in the cave she'd offered him one, though it had annoyed her to do so. The grin that spread across his face was enough for her to know that he'd come up with a reason that she should share, but that reason made her snort. "Taking advantage of you?" Really? "I didn't feel you pushing me away, buddy." She pointed out, her head tilting to the side. "Oh, just admit it. You liked it." She rolled her eyes at his claim that she couldn't help herself. "Oh yeah, let me tell ya." Sarcasm laced every word. "I really couldn't help myself being that close to you."She turned and walked to where Logan had tossed her cigarettes and lighter and picked them up then turned back to him when he made the jumping his bones comment. Wow. Riley walked back to where Logan was stretched out on the ground and she stood over him with one foot on either side of his hips. It would take a whole hell of a lot more to make her feel awkward than what he was dishing out -- if that was even what he was trying. Whatever, it didn't matter. "Again, I didn't feel you pushing me away." She plucked a cigarette from the pack and brought it to her lips, and at the same time she knelt down so that she was straddling Logan's hips. Riley acted as if it were the most common and comfortable thing to do, and honestly it didn't bother her. She tossed the pack aside and cupped her hands around the end if the cigarette while she flicked the lighter. It produced a little flame and she took a drag before tossing the ligher with the pack of cigarettes. He still hadn't convinced her, but she took the cigarette and turned it toward him so that he could lean up take it ... if she decided to let him have it. Right at that moment she was more interested in teasing him because it was fun. "."

I couldn't Lie, couldn't lie couldn't lie Everything that kills me makes me feel alive When Riley moved to stand over him, both his hands moved behind his head as he looked up at her. Hey, if she didn’t care, than why not at least enjoy the view? After all, from her stance, it was quite perfect. The continuous statement that he didn’t push her away just came with a one shoulder shrug, because it was not something he bothered to deny. What was the point? If a woman wanted to kiss him, who was he to deny her that obvious pleasure? It was not as if it caused him any such pain to let an attractive feisty woman throw herself at him. (Because in his mind she threw herself at him, you know, because he’s a narcissist)
But when she knelt down and straddled him, his brow arched ever so slightly in amusement. Eyes glancing down for a moment before raising to her face as she lit the cigarette. A low rumble could be heard in a hum through his throat as if in thought, before he flashed that smile upwards at her again, ”I told you, you couldn’t keep yourself away from being close to me. ” Obviously when he went to reach for the cigarette she pulled back teasingly just as his fingers were about to grab it. He reacted quickly, a low grumble could be heard a moment before his hand shot out. His stronggrip wrapped around the wrist which held the cigarette.
His free hand plucked the cigarette from her fingers, and he took a slow drag while watching her. This was the first cigarette he had since arriving here. Logan did not bring cigarettes because he just figured it would be obsolete to do so, but honestly the deep hug of nicotine was exactly what he needed right then. It was like he found a long lost friend, and damn he probably shouldn’t have smoked it because now he’d want one again in the future. But whatever. Shit happens. Exhaling to the side, before he flicked the ash away. Then he pulled her forward with a quick tug on her wrist.
