PERSONALITYSilas can be quite an impatient person, especially with people who he doesn't have time for. It got him into trouble back on Earth a few times when he was working. While in the middle of a procedure though, he's the epitome of calm and patience. Being a nurse, or medic, brings a calm to him that he doesn't experience in normal every day life. Also thanks to his profession and an upbringing around farmers and uncensored humor, Silas has quite the dry sense of wit that often isn't appreciated. He has no issue talking about embarrassing body functions or the size of that crap someone took behind the tree. [break][break]
Despite his troubling and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor, Silas is a good nurse and person. Most of the time he'll have a good bedside manner and he will always respect a persons privacy and secrets. Having been a workaholic on Earth, Silas struggles to wind down and do nothing, on the look out for something to do to keep his hands and mind active. If he isn't tending to someone or otherwise occupied he can be found sketching or skimming over his medical books(once they've been dropped off!). [break][break]
He's a thinker, who even in the moments where it seems he's that busy that his mind could only be concentrating on the matter at hand, he's possibly thinking about several other things too. This causes him to over-think many situations. For example, his packing for coming to Petra Exterior, he packed what he could attempting to think of any possible situation that he would excel in fixing. He even brought a survival bracelet(something he had bought on a whim some months beforehand) with no idea what he would use it for, as well as layering an outfit for any possible weather. Over-thinking worms its way into relationships also, intimate and platonic, examining ever thing they say or do, wondering if they like him or not, if he did something wrong, if they're pretending to like him. This is mostly internalized and his lack of self-confidence is covered by an extrovert exterior. [break][break]
On PE Silas he has discovered that he feels lonely, something he hadn't experienced much of on Earth. Overall, despite his faults, Silas is quite the caring person, suited to his field and will always go above and beyond to make sure a person is okay.
[break][break]
HISTORY Silas was born in the back of a dark blue Ute as it sped towards the district hospital. Ever since then, his mother had always joked that Silas was too impatient for country life on their dairy farm in the Australian outback. Despite this, he was always willing to help, home schooled on their farm and most of his days were spent exploring his surrounds and being a help to his father as his mother took care of things closer to the house. [break][break]
At the age of fifteen he moved to the city, Sydney, to be exact. It took him a while to adjust, the country bumpkin in the city, but with the help of his aunt Silas eventually adapted. He attended pre-university courses, getting an official education that assisted him into University. First, he attended as an art major but an accident would eventually change his direction. [break][break]
Twenty-years-old and Silas thought himself invincible. He finished his degree in media, traditional art, and in a drunk mistake he stepped into an open fire pit. In the months that followed Silas found himself in the hospital quite a lot, healing leg, skin graphs and not being able to get rid of the scarring completely left him with a fascination with burns. [break][break]
And so, that was how Silas found himself back in University, on his way to become a Registered Nurse. Three years and many hours of placement work and assignments he was done. Nothing interesting happened within the time he studied, because who could have a life while also studying? He started working at one of the bigger hospitals in Sydney, paying for his parents to come visit him after he had a reliable income. [break][break]
Silas was a person who had always been impatient with his life, he wanted it to go faster, smoother, funner, always wanted something that he couldn't get straight away. His parents had been amazed, but proud, that he had managed to pass his art degree, let alone a nursing one. It had been difficult to concentrate on the study, but being in the midst of actually being a nurse, there was a calm there in the chaos that Silas had never experienced before. It enticed him, comforted him. [break][break]
Two years in Silas started to date one of the other nurses, a pretty little brown-haired woman by the name of Abigail. It was a difficult adjustment period, as he dedicated a lot of his time to work and found it difficult to allow room for another. He still studied, going further into learn more about treating burns. His hospital had sponsored him to become a specialized burns nurse. Silas and Abigail dated for a good four years before it started to get rocky. She wanted children, but there was something that held Silas back. The frustrating part being that he couldn't quite say what stopped him from wanting it. [break][break]
It was only a year later that Silas was justified in his decision of not having a child yet. The idea of evacuating the planet with a small person was a horrifying one. There hadn't been time for him to contact his parents, though he had tried to ring to find that their phone was disconnected. A few friends from the hospital in his apartment building were also escaping and they promised to try and meet up at some point, if they could. Silas spent what little time he had to pack useful things before being whisked away.

Outfits: Even on Earth, Silas had a habit of living in his scrubs. They're comfortable and he tended to work more than he was at home. As such, one of the outfits he brought with him are a simple set of blue scrubs, briefs, socks, solar powered watch(with second hand) and black sneakers. His second outfit was layered, for both warmer and cooler weather. Briefs, socks, hiking boots, singlet, dark jeans, black t-shirt, a knitted(manly) jumper from his mother, Jacana Jacket, sunglasses, scarf and beanie. [break]
