[attr="class","template2-table"] [attr="class","template2-container"] [attr="class","template2-content"]Livia was missing her family. Sunday dinner was what she missed the most - meatballs, pasta with gravy, the salads her mother used to make and of course, the gossip. It wasn’t that Liv wanted to relish in the misfortune of others, it was just that she liked to know things. What aunt might be getting divorced, what uncle had “disappeared” (let’s be real - Liv wasn’t stupid), or what cousin had dropped out of college. With a sigh she thought again about the meatballs her mother would be making.
Instead of eating pasta, here she was on PE - scooping out some kind of porridge to those who had spent all day working. Livia had done her best to make the porridge tasty - but she was a baker after all, not a chef. However, since there wasn’t an oven for her to bake in - Liv had been regulated to chef duty for the camp most of the time. The rest of her days were spent helping out the cultivators.
Putting her spoon down when there was a break in the line, Livia twisted her long auburn hair in to a knot at the base of her neck. She scooped a few more helpings of porridge in to the bowls of those who shuffled past. Then the line suddenly stopped. Craning her head out a bit, Liv yelled ” NEXT!” to whoever was holding the line up. tags;; OPEN Coded by Vervain of Adoxography.[newclass=".template2-table"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-image:url('http://i67.tinypic.com/30suja9.png'); overflow: hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-container"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-color: #eeeeee; margin-top: 300px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-table:hover .template2-container"]margin-top: 0px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-content"]padding: 10px; text-align: justify; height: 280px; overflow: auto;[/newclass]

What Annía missed the most from home was the research materials available. But then most every creature on Earth had been discovered and she would be left going to University and working in a zoo if she was lucky. Here she was out on the field and making true field notes on the creatures she saw.
In truth she was extremely nervous making her notes, judging creatures by her observations like this. But then it was what she was trained to do. While there were certainly a variance or two with the animals here compared to what animals did on Earth, there were certainly enough similarities that her training actually came in handy.
She was absently shuffling through the food line with a tray in one hand, her nose in her notes as she read what she observed earlier that day. She knew that there were a few things she needed to add but overall it wasn’t so bad. It took her a moment or two to realize that the Next yelled out by the person serving the meal was addressing her. “Oh! I’m sorry.” She smiled as she closed her notes and tucked it under her arm before moving further down the line to where the woman waited.

[attr="class","template2-table"] [attr="class","template2-container"] [attr="class","template2-content"] When Livia peered down the line again after yelling, she wasn’t surprised to see that the person who was holding the line was reading something. It seemed to her that most of the people on PE were readers - scientists and other people who spent years reading in college. For her part, Liv liked a good romance novel know and again but she wasn’t overly bookish. The difference between her and everyone else on PE was easy for Livia to see, everyone here was so smart - and not that she was an idiot by any means, but what was Livia supposed to contribute to PE other than bread?
There had to be a lot of bakers out there more skilled and knowledgeable than she. Livia was still at a loss for how she ended up here, other than the obvious answer - that her father had bribed someone to get her here. She smiled a bit as the girl shut whatever she was reading and scooted down the line. ” No worries. “ Livia replied, her smile growing. She slapped a scoop of porridge on the girl’s plate.
” What are you reading?” Livia hadn’t wanted to ask, but there was no one behind the girl in line that she could see - and Livia’s curiosity got the better of her. tags;; @aivi Coded by Vervain of Adoxography.[newclass=".template2-table"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-image:url('http://i67.tinypic.com/30suja9.png'); overflow: hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-container"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-color: #eeeeee; margin-top: 300px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-table:hover .template2-container"]margin-top: 0px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-content"]padding: 10px; text-align: justify; height: 280px; overflow: auto;[/newclass]

She was glad once she actually looked around that she wasn’t bothering anyone else other then the woman behind the counter. “Some days if my head wasn’t attached I would forget it I swear. I get so lost sometimes.” It was the truth really, she got so lost in her work, the rest of the world just faded away.
She didn’t consider herself a braniac. Her grades certainly hadn’t been magnificent but she enjoyed what she did and what she studied. That couldn’t be said about everyone but at least for her she could. As for the rest of this place Annía really couldn't say. She hadn’t met enough people or interacted enough to judge.
Looking down at her tray she gave a weak smile. She knew in time the food would improve but it was hard to imagine it at times. But that was part of her job now wasn’t it? Map out migration patterns? What was she reading? “Huh? Oh!” duh. Annía brought her field notebook out from under her arm and showed the stranger the cover before flipping in a few pages to show the notes she had made on a nearby animal. In this case one of the more common herbivore’s in the area. “Just my observation notes on some local wildlife.”

[attr="class","template2-table"] [attr="class","template2-container"] [attr="class","template2-content"] Livia smiled as the other woman mentioned that she got so lost sometimes. ” Most people are like that when they get involved in something they love.” Livia replied. It was true, when she was in the zone - baking loaves, it was easy to forget everything else going on around her. Speaking of, Liv was dying to get her hands in some flour, feel the dough come together under her hands. But her flour wasn’t here, and neither were her pizza oven materials.
Livia studied the notebook and then the notes as the other girl flipped it open. When she explained what the notes were, Livia perked up a bit. She had always likes animals, that it was super interesting to be living on a planet where most everything still had to be discovered. ” So what’s the coolest animal you’ve seen so far?” Liv was dying to know all about the creatures on PE. Just like she was dying to know most stuff.
” Have you found anything cute a fluffy yet?” Livia asked, setting down her spoon and leaning forward. ” I mean - my dog is on the way here, through space - and I’m definitely missing him so something cute and fluffy to snuggle in the meantime would just be excellent. “ Livia certainly knew about domestication and all that - but she figured the animals here wouldn’t be to afraid since they hadn’t see too many people before. . tags;; @aivi Coded by Vervain of Adoxography.[newclass=".template2-table"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-image:url('http://i67.tinypic.com/30suja9.png'); overflow: hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-container"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-color: #eeeeee; margin-top: 300px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-table:hover .template2-container"]margin-top: 0px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-content"]padding: 10px; text-align: justify; height: 280px; overflow: auto;[/newclass]

[googlefont="Griffy"][googlefont="Abel"] I WANNA TRY EVERYTHING I wanna try even though I could fail Sure some people were like that and got lost in what they did sometimes, Annía was truly bad about it. It was a good thing she was actually decent at navigating more than once she had found herself in unfamiliar territory. Granted that was rather easy to do around here. The majority of the surrounding territory was unknown after all. “I think I’m worse than most.”
She smiled as the woman perked up upon hearing what it was Annía had been working on. It was always nice when someone showed interest in her work. So many just blow it off as a waste they just didn’t understand. She grinned a little as the woman asked about the coolest animal she’d seen. “Not exactly an easy question you know. Well an easy one to answer. The deer like animals I’ve seen are just beautiful. Gray fur, horns like you would see on a gazelle but longer and a white stripe running the length of their body. I say deer like really just because of how they act and the role they seem to fill so far.”
She couldn’t help but let out a small “awww” as she heard about Livia waiting for her dog. “I’m sure he misses you as well. I can’t say for sure yet but there is a possibility of a native species that may be good for domestication like that. Think pet monkey, but soft bunny like fur and ears to match. They have a variety of colors from what I’ve seen and they seem sociable so that’s good.”

[attr="class","template2-table"] [attr="class","template2-container"] [attr="class","template2-content"] ” Oh - those sound cool. “ Livia replied with the other girl described the deer like animals she had seen. ” I haven’t seen those yet. “ Truth be told, Livia hadn’t seen any animals yet - except for bugs. Lots of bugs. She knew that bugs were important to the ecosystem, and someone else would probably find them fascinating, but Livia was not impressed. At least nothing had tried to bite her yet.
” Probably not.” Livia replied, her tone joking and conversational. ” He loves everyone so I’m not sure it actually matters that I’m not there. “ She flapped her hand aimlessly in the air to further her point. Capone looked terrifying - and people were generally afraid of him, but in actually all the big lug wanted to do was snuggle and get his back scratched.
She nodded as the other girl described a potential fluffy creature. ” Those sounds cute. Hopefully they like to snuggle. “ Livia pondered the pros and cons of having a monkey rabbit combination as a pet. After a long moment of pondering she gestured to the food. ” Sorry - I know it sucks. When my stuff gets here we’ll have better stuff. “ tags;; @aivi Coded by Vervain of Adoxography.[newclass=".template2-table"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-image:url('http://i67.tinypic.com/30suja9.png'); overflow: hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-container"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-color: #eeeeee; margin-top: 300px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-table:hover .template2-container"]margin-top: 0px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-content"]padding: 10px; text-align: justify; height: 280px; overflow: auto;[/newclass]

“Yeah? The herd lives about half a day's travel from here if you ever actually wanted to go see them.” Granted she didn’t know honestly if Livia would be interested at all in such a hike. She knew it wasn’t exactly everyone's idea of fun.
She could tell that Livia really did love her dog and missed him. No doubt as soon as he was here he would be attached to her side. Annía would love to see that reunion. “Well he just needs to get his proper amount of attention right?” She grinned at the joke.
“I hope so.” She knew there were a few who wanted an animal companion. In truth it would help with morale so she really couldn’t complain but she didn’t simply know enough yet. “Things look hopeful with them but we’ll have to wait and see.” She knew she had to spend some more time observing them before she could say for sure. That and they were all a bit leary of disrupting the biodiversity of the area.

[attr="class","template2-table"] [attr="class","template2-container"] [attr="class","template2-content"] Livia rolled the question around in her head. Did she really want to hike for a day to see deer things? Earth Livia would probably have said no almost immediately. Earth Livia didn’t do such things. Or rather, hiking wasn’t a thing her family did. ”I think I would be interested in seeing them. When I can get the time off from the food patrol of course. “ She finally replied after a long moment. This was PE Livia now, and hiking seemed like something that version of herself would do.
She snorted and nodded her agreement when the other woman talked about Capone needing the proper amount of attention. That was for sure. That dog had even won over her father who was a man no one had ever described as “soft.”
As she spoke again, Livia nodded her agreement. She herself knew of a few people who had mentioned missing their pets at home. Her family had never had pets growing up. Livia had just showed up with Capone one day while in college and that was the first dog she, or her family had ever owned. After a long moment, Livia gestured to the food. ”Sorry - I know it sucks. When my stuff gets here we’ll have better stuff.“ tags;; @aivi Coded by Vervain of Adoxography.[newclass=".template2-table"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-image:url('http://i67.tinypic.com/30suja9.png'); overflow: hidden;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-container"]width: 400px; height: 300px; background-color: #eeeeee; margin-top: 300px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-table:hover .template2-container"]margin-top: 0px; -webkit-transition-duration: 1s; transition-duration: 1s; -moz-transition-duration: 1s;[/newclass] [newclass=".template2-content"]padding: 10px; text-align: justify; height: 280px; overflow: auto;[/newclass]

In truth many people now on PE found themselves doing things they wouldn’t even consider doing before. She had to remind herself that not everyone was like she was. Not everyone had managed to do their dream job by moving here. “Certainly! Just let me know when you do ok?” She knew that it would take the whole day for this little venture and in truth there was just no guarantee they would see anything but she always hoped.
She waved off Livia’s concerns about the quality of the food being served. “No it’s ok. I generally live off of trail rations when out and about so anything actually prepared is just amazing!” After a day or so granola and jerky started to get old fast. This is one of the main reasons I come back in from the wild you know.” She grinned at that simply because it sounded silly. But it was the truth.
She nodded at Livia’s comment about getting her stuff. They were all waiting and looking forward to the oh so infrequent drops. Yhe basic supplies that trickled in were great and all but the personal items that arrived were really what kept people’s hopes up. “I can’t wait to get anything in a drop really. It will make my life so much easier out in the field.”
